The Savoy Museum

This small, free-entry museum is located within the famous Savoy Hotel and is full of amazing items from its history. This beautifully lavish hotel has accommodated millions of guests, many of whom are amongst the wealthiest and most famous people in the world.

Many of their cards, photographs and effects are now on show in this delightful museum. You can also view the hotel’s wide range of vintage alcohol, some of which is priced at £5,000 a bottle! Also resident in the museum is Kasper the model cat, who to this day takes a seat at dinner if there are 13 guests, to avoid bad luck.

The Kyoto Garden

Located in Holland Park, this tranquil area offers a truly peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of London life. A lesser-known park, it is often quiet and relaxing despite being right in the middle of Kensington.

The garden has plenty of hidden gems, including winding paths, beautiful statues, wandering peacocks, and an orangery. If you want a break from London without the hassle of leaving the city, visit the stunning Kyoto Garden.

Pie-and-Mash Shops

A well-known British classic, London is full of fantastic pie-and-mash shops. Ever popular with the locals, only a few tourists give it a try. However, if you’re heading down to London for a short break, you should definitely give the traditional food a go.

East London has several pie and mash shops that have been going for decades, and central London has plenty of exciting new gastro pubs that serve up great pie and mash. If you’re feeling adventurous, try a side of jellied eels!

The Chin Chin Lab

The Chin Chin Lab is an ice cream parlour with a huge twist. Thanks to the amazing properties of liquid nitrogen, your ice cream is made and frozen in front of you in a matter of seconds. The Chin Chin Lab is also famous for its weird and wonderful flavours.

New and fun flavours are thought up and developed each week, but some of the popular resident flavours include burnt butter caramel, coconut and kaffir lime, watermelon and dill, sticky toffee warmie sundae, and the delicious red velvet sundae.

The Almeida

Famous for supporting up-and-coming actors, the Almeida’s tickets are low-priced, but the shows and the performances are amongst the best in London. From musical and Shakespearian shows to brand new plays, this theatre has something to offer everyone.

Islington Farmers’ Market

If you want a real taste of London, visit the Islington Farmers’ Market. A traditional part of London’s history, this wonderful market has been open for years, and it showcases some of the best food that the city has to offer – from fresh fruit and vegetables to organic meats and cheeses. It also supports local farmers and traders by only exhibiting their foods and goods.
